Each month we showcase some of the fantastic stories our community of business owners and professionals have to share. This month we thought we’d shine the spotlight on one of our Virtual Assistants, Natalie-Rose Joseph.

Hello. Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Natalie-Rose. I am mum to two handsome little boys and I was born and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa. I moved to the UK at the age of 17 to live with my dad, who then promptly moved to America when I was 18! But I decided to stay in the UK by myself, and the rest is history.

Having put myself through college while holding down a full-time job, I now have almost 15 years of experience in Marketing, and have picked up skills in Project Management and Administration along the way.

I come from a PR background and as such I am very much a people person. I love a challenge and am very goal oriented. I recently took the Myers Briggs personality test and my result was The Protagonist, ENFJ-A. That is spot on!

Having two young boys, I don’t really have much time to myself but when I do I love photography; finding beauty wherever I can and capturing it. I also love listening to audiobooks. Thank goodness for technology as I don’t have much time to read, so apps like Audible are heaven sent!

What kind of support do you provide to your clients at Virtalent?

The work I do for my clients is very varied. I support them with their invoicing, inbox management, calendar bookings and arranging travel. I also provide digital marketing, HR and recruitment support, as well as developing websites, amongst other things.

That is very varied indeed! What impact would you say you have had on your clients, both personally and professionally?

When I’m interacting with my clients one of the first questions I ask myself is ‘what value can I add?’. I like to find out what their objectives are and then figure out how we can achieve those, whilst always getting the most out what we are doing. I always try to think outside of the box.

I feel a great sense of pride when someone says ‘I finally have my life back! I no longer need to worry about doing this, that and the other as I have you!’.

Something I particularly enjoy is seeing the tangible results of my efforts. One of my clients has seen an increase in web traffic since we worked on developing their new website, which has resulted in an increase in sales.

That must have been very rewarding for you. What has been your biggest challenge since joining the team?

In the beginning, my biggest challenge was figuring out how to get the balance right whilst working for several clients at the same time. Each one has their own personality, their own way of doing things and their own priorities.

Well you seem to have mastered that now!  What do you enjoy most about working at Virtalent?

I love that I get to work with a diverse range of businesses that I may not have had the opportunity to work with otherwise. Career growth, development and progression are part and parcel of working at Virtalent. You are encouraged to do your best, but most of all to love what you do.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking about hiring a Virtual Assistant?

That you should try it! Hiring a Virtual Assistant will undoubtedly change the way you work, allowing you to concentrate on what you do best and outsourcing other crucial and often neglected areas of your business.
